QNX Aviage Acoustic Processing Suite

High-end 32-bit processors, 3D graphics, wireless connectivity, high-accuracy GPS radios, dead reckoning, and large amounts of locally stored data – today’s portable and in-dash navigation systems are increasingly complex and demanding on hardware resources.

As a result, developers face a number of challenges:

Besides offering the ultra-reliable QNX® Neutrino® RTOS, QNX Software Systems provides an array of innovative technologies for the in-car computing market. These include a highly customizable framework for managing power consumption, multi-layered 3D graphics, and instant-on technology for ultra-fast response. In addition, we offer the QNX Momentics® development suite, a highly integrated toolset for accelerating the entire development cycle - from board bring-up to performance optimization.

QNX case studies

Daewoo VisionJoy Navigation System

An integrated navigation and information unit, VisionJoy uses a touchscreen interface and GPS to provide traffic and congestion updates, automatic route selection and detailed turn-by-turn voice directions. It also supports multimedia CD/MP3 playback and internet connectivity for web access, email and shopping.

Hyundai Mobis MTS-1 Navigation System

The MTS-1 simultaneously manages navigation, a hands-free phone module, a rear-seat entertainment screen and other media-rich applications. The unit also integrates standard automotive controls like window lifts, seat adjusts and HVAC through a single, multi-functional console.

SAAB 9-3 Infotainment Unit ES3-7

A high-end infotainment system that combines Bluetooth, navigation and connection to MOST, the ES3-7 provides mapping navigation and turn-by-turn driving display. Drivers can also run several devices simultaneously, including a DVD-based GPS navigation system, RDS receiver, CD changer and mobile phone.
