The QNX-in-Education Program provides faculty members associated with educational institutions around
the world with free software for classroom work and research projects. And best of all, there is no longer
an expiration date attached to the license.
Faculty members can now access the QNX Software Systems’ QNX® Momentics® development suite
Professional Edition v6.3.2 and world-renowned QNX® Neutrino® RTOS for their course work and/or academic
research. The QNX-in-Education Program package also offers curriculum literature to support our software.

With the QNX-in-Education program, it is now more convenient to gain access to your FREE QNX software. And, with no
expiry dates attached to the license, what easier way to arm yourself with world-class educational tools that will
foster your research or course work.
Step 1: Register for or upgrade your myQNX account
If you do not already have a myQNX account, login to register for one.
If you already have a myQNX account, login to upgrade your account. By upgrading
your account, you will be able to participate in the community forums, submit enhancement requests, gain access to
a subversion account, and receive exclusive downloads and code samples.
Step 2: Click on the QNX Momentics download to download the software directly.
Step 3: Select Academic Faculty
Click on the Academic Faculty link and carefully fill out the online self declaration form. This form requests that
you submit information pertaining to yourself and details on the course or research project that you are working on.
Read carefully and accept the license agreement in order to receive your license key.
1. Who is eligible to apply for the QNX-in-Education program?
The QNX-in-Education program is geared towards faculty members (for courses and research). Educational institutions
that are eligible include: registered universities, vocational colleges, research laboratories.
2. What about students interested in exploring QNX software?
To ensure students - who have no commercial interests - can explore QNX software easily, QNX has a non-commercial
licensing program to help get software in the hands of developers in the making. The terms and conditions for use
are spelled out in the end user license. Self-declaration takes only a moment. It's as easy as selecting the
non-commercial icon.
3. What can I do if I don't qualify for the QNX-in-Education program?
Educational users who are not eligible for this program will still have access to the QNX Momentics Development
Suite Non-Commercial Edition v6.3.2. The non-commercial
user license is also free and there is no expiry date.
4. How do I apply for the QNX-in-Education program?
Applying is now more convenient and quicker than ever. Obtain or upgrade your myQNX account,
select the Academic Faculty icon, and fill out a self declaration form and accept a license agreement.
5. How do I get technical support for the QNX-in-Education program?
You may find help through the QNX Support section, which includes knowledge base and publicly
accessible newsgroups served from QNX Software Systems’ NNTP server. QNX support, development staff and fellow
customers frequent these newsgroups. We cannot, however, guarantee a response time to your questions in these forums.
If these free-of-charge support mechanisms do not meet your needs, you can order a support plan for the commercial
version of the QNX Momentics development suite. For more details about the features of our support plans,
click here. Please note that discounted support plans are not applicable.
In order to ensure that you receive the assistance you require, please do not email your support questions to

6. What if I want to use an earlier version of QNX technology, such as the QNX RTOS v4?
New grants are available only for the latest released version of the QNX Momentics development suite Professional
Edition v6.3.2. If you qualify for the QNX-in-Education program but need to use the QNX RTOS v4 instead of the QNX
Neutrino RTOS and/or QNX Momentics development suite, we will offer you the QNX RTOS v4 at a 50% discount as long
as it is still on our price list.
If you are already a QNX-in-Education partner who has been using the QNX RTOS v4 and need additional copies for
your ongoing course or project, you can obtain additional copies at a discount of 50%, as long as the product is
still on our price list.
Please note that the version available to you at the time of purchase may not be the exact release you had been
previously using. As we issue maintenance releases for QNX RTOS v4, we retire older revisions from our price list.
